Snowhite’s Damselfly Nymph

At the vise.
Work through the numbered steps in order. Use the written materials and proportions as your guide; select an image for a closer look.
Prepare the eyes
Cut a bead-chain pair and smooth sharp cut edges. Cross-wrap it atop the shank behind the eye.
Set the flash
Secure flash projecting about one-and-a-half hook lengths rearward. Fold the tag back and bind it.
Tie ostrich tips
Align five fibers to the flash length. Secure the tips as a tail and bind the remaining fibers rearward to the bend.
Wind the body
Wrap the long ostrich butt ends together up the shank; secure temporarily behind the bead chain.
Cover the eyes
Cross ostrich around the eyes, secure and trim. Whip finish a small red head without blocking the eye.
On the water.
For stillwater trout, retrieve slowly near vegetation with short pulls and pauses; adjust depth to observed nymph activity.
