Glo-Bug Egg
A small yarn sphere imitates a drifting fish egg.

Work through the numbered steps in order. Use the written materials and proportions as your guide; select an image for a closer look.
Foundation
Cover the front third of the shank with thread.
Set the yarn
Place a compact bundle of yarn above the hook with the optional dot strand on top. Bind tightly at its midpoint.
Finish the thread
Wrap under the bundle, whip finish at the eye, and apply a tiny amount of cement.
Shape the egg
Lift the yarn and trim into a small rounded ball. Distribute fibers around the shank without filling the hook gap.

Dead-drift where loose eggs are naturally available. Fish to feeding fish downstream of spawning areas and keep away from active redds.
